Another great rollerblading trail! Or biking, walking or running. We always get on the trail at the intersection of Purcell Rd and Styles Trail, which is just south of Verona, WI and west of Oregon, WI. At this intersection, they have a parking lot for cars and a bench with maps and extra information. If you head away from Madison on this trail, the surface is made up of gravel which is great for walking and biking. Last time I was here, there was a woman using the trail to train for her hike on the Pacific Crest trail (a 2,650 mile trail that takes about 5 months to hike. WOW!). In the direction towards Madison, the trail is paved all the way into Camp Randall. Often times we bike into Mickey's Dairy Bar on this trail, which is always super fun! Its also a great place to rollerblade, perfect out and back for whatever distance you feel comfortable with. Theres bridges that go over some creeks and a cow pasture. Bodhi, my pup, always loves to come rollerblading with us and always gets a little spooked from the cows haha. There are some busy intersections you have to cross on this trail, but for the most part it is a very scenic trail.
Rating: 10/10
Very smooth and has great views of pretty landscapes. I also love how it goes straight downtown!
Below: Bodhi on the Badger State Trail! He loves rollerblading because then he gets to run as fast as he wants, and I can't stop!
