Ice Age Trail Montrose

Now, the Ice Age Trail is made up of over 1,200 miles of hiking trails that go throughout Wisconsin. This would take way longer than one day! But... there are segments that you can do instead of the whole trail which is sooo nice! My family's favorite is the section that is located off of Frenchtown Rd and Pillar Rd. It is about 15-20 minutes from Madison, and is a nice out and back. The trail ends where at County Highway D, but another segment of the Ice Age trail is just across the road. The whole section it about 6 miles, but walks you through fields and forests with amazing views! The trail is dog friendly, but asks that you leash your dog. Sometimes there are 3-4 cars in the parking lot, but the trail is a good length where you don't usually run into people. I wouldn't recommend ham mocking here, just because it is a trail that goes by private properties and sometimes through backyards.

Rating: 9/10 My favorite part is the green fields! The trail is also very well marked with yellow strips of paint on the trees or posts.
