Natural Bridge State Park

This park was such a cool find! It's about an hour away from Madison, near Leland, WI off of county highway C. We went hiking at Baxter's Hollow before visiting this park, so we only did an out and back to the natural bridge, which was, in total, about 0.6 miles. They have multiple longer loops that you can go on, and I'm planning on heading back there sometime soon to try those out. The natural bridge was really cool and was formed by the eroding effects of wind and water. There was also a cave below the formation which was used as a rock shelter by native people about 11,000 years ago. I really enjoyed how they had signs at the sight talking about the historical information of the bridge and the cave. We were able to walk on top of the bridge and underneath the arch which was another cool experience. There were definitely places to hammock, but there were no paved trails for rollerblading. We also brought our dogs here and they loved it! The hike wasn't too difficult and we saw all different ages on the trail.

I thought the natural bridge and the rock cave was really cool, and the informational signs were very helpful. The trails were well marked too.

To the left: the natural bridge! View from the trail. Below, you can kind of see the cave.
